Company Structure:

 Line Company – D Company, Old Dominion Guard, 1st Virginia Infantry, A.P.Hill’s Brigade

All individuals, messes, units, etc. shall be consolidated and assigned to a squad. They shall follow the orders of their assigned squad officer and non-commissioned officer.

Drill Gilham’s Manual for Volunteers & Militia will be the tactical manual used for all Infantry evolutions. All company officers and non-commissioned officers are responsible for having a good knowledge of company evolutions. It is also the responsibility of the individual participant to see that he is proficient in the Manual of Arms. Remember, a well-drilled soldier is a safe soldier.

Campaign Impression:
We will be representing troops of the Army of Virginia under Joseph Johnston  during the Peninsula Campaign in the Spring of 1862 We will be in an area where camps had been established. So canvas A-tent, dining flies or shelter halves-used as shelters is recommended. Please review Authenticity Regulations. Officers are expected to be dressed according to the guiding regulation of the time period (See Authenticity Regulations.)  
There will be a brief authenticity inspection prior to the participants entering the bivouac. This will be conducted at registration area, near parking. The event organizers reserve the right to request changes in each participant’s impression, as detailed in the Authenticity Regulations.  
It is our goal to bring together 30 of the finest Living Historians to field a company size body of troops. We will honor the brave Americans who gave their all on the plains surrounding Lee’s Mill Battlefield in the early days of the Peninsula Campain..Different living history scenarios will be assigned to each of the squads.  All participants are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to interpret the life of the Confederate soldier in camp and in battle.

Standards:
It is the responsibility of all participants to be familiar with all Standard Operating Procedures, General Orders, minimum requirements in the areas of field evolutions, camp impression, uniforms, equipment, weapons, ordinance, safety, etc. Please see the attached Rules and Regulations.
